Immigrant Investor (EB-5)

About the EB-5 Visa

The Immigrant Investor visa allows foreign nationals to obtain their legal residence in the United States through an investment of capital. The investor, the spouse, and minor children will all obtain their legal residency in the United States.

Basic Requirements

  1. For areas with high unemployment the investment must be greater than $500,000 USD

  2. For all other areas, the investment must be greater than $1,000,000 USD

  3. The investment must create at least 10 jobs for U.S. workers

Comparison with the E-2 Visa

  • EB-5 visas are immigrant visas which provide a path to U.S. citizenship

  • E-2 visas are only available to citizens of treaty countries (like Colombia)

  • E-2 visas require a lower investment amount
